The Yeti SB150 has “Race Bred” printed on its top tube for good reason. This bike holds more victories in the Endurance World Series than any other machine in the world. It is engineered to drop time and hit the highest speeds on the most technical terrain the trail has to offer. With 21 Endurance World Series podium appearances, 19 Queen Stage wins, and eight International/National Series wins, the SB150 is unrivaled in endurance racing success. Yeti has made this world class technology available to the general public so any rider can shred the trails like a professional.
The frame of the Yeti SB150 is made with their TURQ carbon fiber. This material is their highest quality fiber for a perfect balance of stiffness and compliance. This results in a ride that feels smooth, stable, and aggressive. Tested by some of the best racers in the world, Yeti is confident that they have found the ideal carbon layup for trail performance. Having such a high quality carbon that remains stiff and light results in faster times through the toughest trails. The build of the Yeti SB150 frame keeps riders feeling fast, efficient, and stable in all aspects of riding including climbs, descents, and sprints.
A specialized geometry makes sure that the Yeti SB150 not only feels fast, but that it is fast. Its progressive race driven geometry is designed for shorter fork offsets while the headtube angle is slackened and the seat tube angle is much steeper. Having a steeper seat angle and shorter fork help keep the front wheel on the ground for quick and nimble steering along with powerful pedaling. It also includes a longer wheelbase and lowered bottom bracket. The geometry is completely optimized for its DT Swiss EXC 1501 carbon wheelset. Shorter chainstays also compliment a longer reach to synergize the bike’s high speed with its confident stability. All of these elements combine for a bike that has a ton of downhill prowess but can also sprint on flat ground. The rider is positioned in a forward biased posture, giving them proper space, and keeping them centered in an ideal riding position.
As its name suggests, the Yeti SB150 offers 150mm of rear travel, an ideal amount of shock for an endurance race bike. This version includes a Fox Factory X2 shock. The front of the bike adds an additional 170mm of travel thanks to a Fox Factory 38 Grip 2 suspension fork. The suspension is centered around Yeti’s Switch Infinity technology which utilizes a patented pivot which switches direction as the bike progresses through its travel. Switch Infinity creates an anti-squat curve while allowing the leverage ratio to be tuned independently. This leads to a bottomless feeling shock and outstanding pedaling performance. The T2 version is also equipped SRAM X01 Eagle components and an XX1 AXS rear derailleur for affordable electronic shifting. The Yeti SB150 is a truly elite endurance bike that can hang with the best riders in the world.
