The new Evil Following is an improved version of one of their nimbler and more trail-oriented 29-inch bikes. With 120mm of rear travel in a well-priced Push 11.6 shock, this frame is ready for anything. This time around, the Following is longer and stiffer without becoming slacker or slower. To the surprise of Evil, the first addition of the Following was received as more of a mini downhill bike than the fun trail bike it was intended to be. Because of this, Evil made improvements in all directions, making the Following one of the most versatile mountain bikes out there, capable of performance on descents, climbs, or straight sprints. An additional 20mm in reach was added to give it a longer wheelbase and wider cockpit for extra stability for downhill riders.
This was accomplished while keeping 430mm chainstays in place for the cross-country or trail rider. Depending on how you choose to build this bike, you could come out with a lightweight downhill or endurance bike, or you could end up with a fast and nimble trail shredder. The new Following adds trunnion mounted metric piggy back shocks and boost spacing along with a 1x drivetrain. This setup added stiffness in key areas without downgrading the overall compliance of the bike. The trunnion mount also allows the shock to run on two linkage bearings for a smoother initial pedal stroke and more active travel.
As an all-around trail bike, the Evil Following is equipped with some convenient features that make it a formidable tool for all situations. A SAG meter is integrated into the non-drive side of the Delta Link suspension, allowing you to easily adjust the air pressure based on your daily needs. A carbon integrated chain guide gives you that smooth feeling you expect in your pedal stroke while an axle that bolts directly onto the rear derailleur hanger makes the whole system simple to maintain and adjust. Lower guide collaborations are also compatible thanks to the custom ISCG05 mounts. This frame also features internal cable routing to keep your system safe from the elements and out of your way on the trails.
Durability is not lost on one of the smaller Evil bikes. A rubber downtube protector and a bash guard on the chain guide keep your components safe from the obvious dangers of technical trail riding. The frame is also unidirectional single-piece carbon, making it more durable than others. Options for customizing this frame are practically endless. The Following frame is a blank canvas for you to fill anyway you like to suit your personal preferences.
