The Wilier Cento1 Air is the offspring of mating the geometry and smarts of the Cento1 SR frame with the time trial specific Twin Blade frame. The result is a bike that parts the air cleanly, has incredible lateral stiffness for sprinting, is comfortable enough for long hours in the saddle, and still light enough to climb.

The way Wilier achieves this dual feat is by dialing back some of the deeper tube profiles of the Twin Blade for shallower ones that give you most of the aerodynamic benefits while still allowing the bike to flex in response to rough roads. They've done this with the fork, the seat tube, and the seat post, all of which are somewhat truncated in comparison to the Twin Blade. They moved the rear brake to behind the seat tube rather than under the bottom bracket for ease of access; but thanks to the shaping in front of the brake, it is still hidden from the wind. The blades of the fork as well as the seat stays are relatively wide set for better aerodynamics and greater lateral stiffness. The bottom bracket embraces the BB386EVO standard, which is great for both creating lateral rigidity as well as the freedom to shape the bottom bracket juncture to maximize the qualities Wilier wants. Frame weight for a Medium is 1120g. The fork is 350g uncut.

The geometry is nearly identical to the Cento1 SR. They saw no reason to mess with the success they’ve achieved in finding dimensions that balance agility with stability.

With the Cento1Air, Wilier also solved a problem vexing many an aero road bike frame. Complicated cable routing. There are plates both at the top and bottom of the down tube to better access the internal runs. And the derailleur hanger they've made part of the system with 3D shaping. The cable port/stop comes through the hanger that is at the end of the chain stay. This allows for less exposed and easier routed cables, be they mechanical or electronic. There are also mounts at the bottom of the down tube for your battery, if you choose the electronic route.

Because of Wilier’s embrace of their favorite standards, they include the headset, seatpost, clamp, and bottom bracket with the frameset. The headset is a tapered 1 1/8” to 1 ¼”, the seatpost is a truncated wing design from Ritchey which is 400mm long, has 25mm of setback, and features their one-bolt clamp. If you prefer a more forward position, Wilier offers an aftermarket post with zero setback. The bottom bracket bearings are designed to work with 24mm spindle thru-axle cranks. If you have SRAM or Campagnolo, you can press in adapters. Those who want a BB386EVO crank will need to swap bearings. Max tire width is 25mm.
